American actor best known for appearing on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and the spin-off show Lou Grant. In film he has voiced the lead role of Carl in UP, appeared in Fort Apache, The Bronx, Elf and They Call Me Mister Tibbs!. He joked in an interview in SavageHenryMagazine on playing FDR in a play, “I can’t wait to see how you walk and stand when the arthritis gets to your knees. I started out at 5’9″ and I’m 5’7″ now,” although in a 1979 article he said “I’m 5-foot-8”.
